Orient's Tri-Star, or 3 Star range, is a budget line of automatic watches. They are designed to be affordable and reliable. The three pillars of the collection are simple. The watches are to be well designed, of good quality and be modestly priced. All watches in the range are powered by automatic movements.
Orient watches gain recognition around the world, especially in Asia, due to their rich history of craftsmanship. As the brand grows, Orient Star manages to stand out with its premium qualities while remaining reasonably priced. When compared to Swiss craftsmanship, the Japanese brand retains its marketability.
Typically, you can expect an Orient watch to have a daily accuracy of -15/+25 seconds. While this might seem like a broad range, it's standard for mechanical watches in its price range.
Without service it will last for about a decade. With service after about 5–7 years that could be stretched to a seriously long time. However most Orient watches cost around $100-$200 and the cost of service would be similar to getting a new one, or to just replace the movement.
Orient uses mineral glass for some of its lower-end timepieces and sapphire crystal for mid to high-end watches. Overall, both brands use the best materials for each price range which offers quality and precision. Various levels of water resistance are provided by Seiko and Orient for their watches.
