Iris plus graphics

Is it good enough? Being an Integrated GPU, it comes nowhere close to dedicated Video Cards from AMD & Nvidia. It is also weaker than most Integrated GPUs from AMD (Vega 8 and Vega 11). The exact performance of Iris Plus Graphics 655 will vary between different devices due to the difference in CPU & Memory Type.

Intel Iris Plus G7 (in the new 10th generation “Ice Lake” laptop CPUs) are roughly equivalent to an Nvidia GT 1030 or MX 150 or 230, or AMD RX 540 or Vega 9 or 10 . Intel Iris Graphics is a series of integrated graphics processors (GPUs) developed by Intel.

Iris Plus is a marketing term which denotes an Intel processor with a higher end integrated GPU. By default, all Intel iGPUs since the 5th generation (Broadwell) feature 24 execution units (EUs). Think of them as shader cores which do most of the graphics crunching process.

Performance: Intel Iris Plus Graphics generally offer better performance compared to Intel UHD Graphics. They have more powerful processing units and a higher number of execution units, resulting in improved graphics rendering and faster frame rates in games and multimedia applications.

Overall performance is about on par with a desktop GT 1030 and a little slower than a GTX 1050 MaxQ laptop GPU. So in terms of performance within the realm of integrated GPUs, it's quite good. But compared to gaming GPUs in general, performance is quite poor.
